About the contributors
Carol Arthur is chair of the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire group of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and for three years judged the CIPR’s annual PRide Awards. Senior account director at award winning Harrogate-based Northern Lights PR, Carol trained as a journalist with Yorkshire Post Newspapers. Her wide-ranging experience covers business, education and consumer markets. She has worked in or headed up the PR departments of two colleges, the North Eastern Co-operative Society and Northumbria Tourist Board. Carol has also lectured in media and business studies, and is an active supporter of local charities and the community helping with fund-raising and PR activities.

Professor Anne Gregory is Director of the Centre for Public Relations Studies and Pro-Vice-Chancellor at Leeds Metropolitan University. The Centre which she leads undertakes consultancy and research on public relations as a strategic management discipline. Apart from being an academic of international standing, publishing and speaking around the world, Anne advises UK Government Departments and private sector organisations on strategic issues. When President of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations in 2004, she led it to Chartered status and in 2009 was awarded the Institute’s Sir Stephen Tallents Medal for her outstanding contribution to and in public relations.

Mortimer Chadwick Gray (MCG) is a young and enthusiastic team of PR professionals headed up by the three co-founders and directors, Christine Mortimer, Sarah Chadwick and Kate Gray. Two of the three directors worked as journalists before moving into PR, and all have worked both in-house and in agency with a total of 50 years’ experience between them. MCG were named as the Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy at the 2008 PRide Awards for Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
